Our first project of the year was the Starting Points conference. The aim of the Starting Points Project is to develop successful and sustainable partnerships in order to develop future projects together.
The themes will be employment, enterprise, career skills for young people, and how to bridge the gap between formal (school) and non formal education. We will consider how to use the different parts of Youth in Action, and how to organise good 2020 Education projects together.
The aim of this project is to develop a European Citizenship project for youth leaders, project supervisors and youth workers, Main objective is to develop a youth workers toolkit around inclusion, european involvement, citizenship, democracy and non-formal education methods for work with young people The project involved 16 youth leaders, project supervisors and youth workers coming from the 8 countries Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, United Kingdom, Greece, Turkey, Estonia and Italy

This was a Youth in Action training programme for future 2020 education international group leaders.
Inclusion In Action was held at Doncaster College For The Deaf it is an opportunitiy for professionals from across Europe to engage with disability by working with Kelford & Hilltop Special Educational Needs Schools. Participants are from UK. Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Norway, Romania, Turkey and the Ukraine
A week long programme which started in July with partners from Austria. The aim is to explore inclusion issues
Part 1 of the programme is to film a large scale talent show (and show on two large screens) at a concert venue with over 1000 guests. The media team will work with students to support them to work on a 5 camera live mix. All training will be given prior to you working with the students.
Part 2 for those participants who are more business minded there will be an enterprise element where students work with the leadership participants to create small enterprises over two days and the products will be sold at the live event at the S-Factor marketplace.
In 2013 the Youth In Action programme comes to the end of of its cycle, it will be replaced by Erasmus+ in 2014. In a bid to celebrate Youth In Action the Janus Project aims to bring people from 36 European countries together in London to evaluate the impact of Youth In Action and create a network for new Erasmus+. This is going to be big, powerful and changes the lives of many young people over the next few years. Follow the projects journey leading yp to the event...
The main objective of "Georgia On My Mind" is to empower young people of both nations, using two main methods. (1) Workshops and discussions on issues including youth rights (millennium development goals), empowerment, active citizenship, EU enlargement, the Youth in Action programme and intercultural understanding. (2) Practical exercises, training and workshops to help young participants broaden their horizons in terms of the value of skills and competencies gained through volunteering and how to better present themselves in their CV's and job interviews.
A consistent theme running throughout the programme will be gaining an understanding of the natural environment and how we can look after the planet, showing that green industry will be a growth area in the future European economy. Since half of the participants are from UK urban areas, a special effort will be put on the value and utility of manual work and careers in craftsmanship. This is an employment sector that is not attractive to some young people but offers many opportunities to less academic young people.
First Time Europe is designed to be the participants’ first experience of international youth projects, an opportunity to learn about another culture and to find out more about the European Union in general.
Business without borders is a a 3 country project exploring business and enterprise across Europe The countries involved are UK, Turkey and the Ukraine. The project runs over a 2 year period.
Inclusion TV is a course for professionals wanting to learn about inclusion in practice, share experiences and develop new partnerships. Taking place in Austria it is supported by AK Tyrol and the Youth In Action national agencies from Germany and Austria. The event is run by www.momentumworld.org
Building new 2020 partnerships and exploring non formal education in Portugal is a theme for this programme
Stargazy is a boat renovation project based in Cawsand, Cornwall
The ‘Star Gazy’ initiative has a proven potential opportunity to give a small group of young people facing significant challenges the chance to learn some new, practical skills at the same time as developing their appreciation of being citizens in a wider Europe.
20 youth workers and 120 youngsters from 6 countries will be trained to be multipliers for active citizenship on local level, with global horizons, and develop participative activities in local youth work, relying on the values of inclusion, diversity and sustainable development, in the framework of an international network of learning support.
